Our Jayco Newcastle Ambassadors The Millers recently escaped to Reflections Bonny Hills Holiday Park for a relaxing family adventure:
“Located 2.5hrs north of Newcastle, Bonny Hills almost feels like you are in a different world! It’s just you, your caravan and the beach.
We were lucky enough to secure a popular water front site framed by the boardwalk with with breathtaking views of the beach. Our mornings were spent at a leisurely pace indulging in bacon and eggs or pancakes with Nutella and coffee for breaky
Later in the morning we took a short walk from the caravan park to the beach via the boardwalk for a swim, sand castle building and to burn off a bit of that morning energy. Lakey’s legs tend to tire very quickly and she was happy to walk across multiple times a day.
For lunch we decided to drive to Laurieton Seafood Market for fresh seafood and enjoyed it on the deck overlooking the water. We spent the afternoon laying around on the hammock at the caravan while the kids had an afternoon nap – a holiday tradition that always brings joy! The rest of the afternoon was filled with bike riding and skateboarding around the park which is set out as a loop making it the perfect riding track. The parents enjoyed happy hour on the grass patch followed by another visit to the beach for sunset and crab searching.
Dinner was a BBQ as we started to wind down, lulled to sleep by the sounds of the waves. Ahh wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!
We woke up the next day ready to repeat the cycle as these are the type of relaxing weekends away we thrive on.
Although the park is small, it had a variety of accommodation options for all types of families, a huge camp kitchen, beautiful amenities and laundry facilities, a great playground within walking distance and surf club next door. Across the road you will find the bottle-o and shop.
