WHERE– Pebbly Beach Campground – Yuraygir National Park
If you enjoy remote camping with the beach right at your doorstep, this is the place for you. Perfect for off-road caravans, camper trailers or tents.
Pebbly beach is about 50km from Coffs Harbour. Enjoy the scenic drive in on an unsealed dirt road (Instagram photoshoot in all its glory), before reaching the saltwater creek crossing which can only be crossed in low tide. We stopped for lunch and the kids to have a play in the creek and climb the surrounding sand dunes before taking on the river crossing. The main reason for the trip if you ask John. The drive in is part of the experience with this place.
On to the dune track and the beach crossing and into the oasis that is Pebbly Beach. A secluded open campground with separated unpowered grass sites and toilets. It’s a stop to recharge and enjoy your surroundings type of campground with plenty of walking tracks and nearby headlands that are excellent for whale watching.
While we only ventured for a day trip, it is definitely on the list for a longer stay so we can fall to sleep to the sound of the ocean.
