The Starrs and the Millers recently headed for a post lockdown trip away together to Darlington Park on the Coffs Coast.
WHO: The Starrs, Dan, Sami, Mia, Halle & Luke
VAN: Jayco Silverline outback with triple bunks
LOCATION: NRMA Darlington Beach Holiday Resort.
A family paradise located 30 minutes from the centre of Coffs Harbour at Arrawarra.
A beautiful secluded park set amongst the trees and only a short walk to a spectacular beach. This park has everything you could possibly imagine for a family getaway!
This is the first caravan park we ever took our van too and we have been back multiple times as we just love it!!
So after being stuck in lockdown for what felt like half the year we were so excited to hook the big girl on the back and getaway!!
Ok, now I’m going to try and list everything this park has to offer!!!
A 9 hole golf course, 2 jumping pillows, a huge water park with awesome slides (fun for the adults too), a beautiful Astroturf area to relax on, a large pool with 2 more slides and a great area for the little ones, an archery range, bowling green, restaurant, large activity area with pool table and arcade games, daily kids club, tennis court, go-karts and bike hire, and a BMX track.
With having a decent size van we love the large concrete slab sites here, when we stay we always love to book sites C9 or D8 anywhere in that section if you have kids so close to the jumping pillow and water parks.
Beautiful clean amenities, and many different cabins and villas to choose from if you don’t own a caravan.
Family highlights: Mia & Halle, the splash park and watching frozen 2 on the big screen on Saturday night on the bowling green.
Mum & Dad: playing archery for something different haven’t done it since high school and mummy won!!!!
Cost: we are NRMA members which makes is cheaper and we received 1 night free so we paid $191 for the 5 nights.
WHO: The Millers – John, Shelbee, Korbin and Lakey
VAN: Jayco Heritage 2022
WHERE: NRMA Darlington Park
Darlington Beach is 30 minutes from Coffs Harbour.
Darlington Beach is the definition of family-friendly paradise, a perfect mixture of relaxation and adventure.
Being 4.5hrs from home, we booked this stay in for a week to celebrate my birthday. The park is huge, and the site is even bigger. Every family member needs to pack a bike just to ride over to your neighbour’s campsite.
Our week was filled with a dual slide water park with a giant tipping bucket, resort pool, games room, pump track, jumping pillow, 9 hole golf course, bowling green, archery, pedal go-karts, café, beach, and your touch of nature by hand feeding the kangaroos and rosellas. On repeat, every day, but l am not complaining. The park also set up an outdoor cinema for the kids on the Saturday night.
We had a prime camp spot being directly across from the jumping pillow and the water park. We could keep a safe eye on our kids, from under the awning of the caravan.
Our favourite features of the park;
Lakey (2yrs) loved the soft play playground complete with secure gate and fencing
Korbin (5yrs) couldn’t decide between playing golf and the dual slide water park
Shelbee loved the layout of the ark as all the main features are away from the front entrance
John loved the Beach
Our handy tip – make sure you put all your rubbish away each night. The kangaroos like to help themselves to your bins or any food left out. Even if it is wrapped up.
When travelling with kids, the main feature we consider is ‘will we need to leave the park’. In this park, the answer is NO. You do not need to leave. There is everything at your fingertips. You will find everything to keep your family happy right here.
COST: Being an NRMA member, and for 5 nights we paid $234.00.
