Community Involvement
The team at Jayco Newcastle, along with owner, Damian Charleson, are active members of the local community and always try to assist in providing sponsorship, fundraising and donations to help those in need around our local area.
We believe that it is essential for Jayco Newcastle to make a positive contribution to both charities and local groups in Newcastle and the Hunter areas where possible.
Jayco Newcastle has been actively giving back to the Newcastle community over the years and are committed to making a difference to the lives of people in need. Jayco Newcastle will always support charities, sporting clubs or local groups that are vital in providing an important service in the community.

Camp Quality
Jayco Newcastle are major sponsors for Camp Quality and most recently donated a $90,000 campervan to help support their cause.

Deborah Thomas, CEO of Camp Quality says “Many thanks to Jayco Newcastle, for providing a $90K Renault Campervan for Camp Quality’s first campervan raffle. We raised over $900,000 to help give children and their families a vital break from the trauma of cancer.. We couldn’t do what we do without the generous support of Jayco Newcastle, and we are extremely grateful to be working together,” said Deborah Thomas, CEO of Camp Quality.
The raffle was a huge success with over 28,500 tickets sold, raising over $900,000. Funds raised will help Cam Quality provide life changing support in hospital, online, at school and away from it all at camps and retreats to give over over nine thousand kids registered for Camp Quality services and programs.
In addition to this, for many years Damian Charleson, has also taken part in the Camp Quality ‘‘1000 Ks 4 Kids’’ push bike ride, a cycling event covering 1000 kms to Newcastle raising much needed funds for kids’ cancer research.
Jayco Newcastle has also been the major sponsor of the annual Camp Quality Motor Cycle Ride for each of the last five years . This event raises between $75,000 and $130,000 per annum for Camp Quality Newcastle.
Jayco Newcastle Lifeblood Team
In May 2023, we established the Jayco Newcastle Lifeblood Team, uniting our efforts to donate blood as a team every three months. Our Lifeblood Team has already made a substantial impact on our community, collectively donating 19 units of whole blood, 11 units of plasma, and contributing to saving up to 90 local lives. We eagerly anticipate our next group donations scheduled for February, May, August & November 2024!
Jenny's Place
In March 2023 we hosted a special staff and family morning tea in support of Jenny’s Place annual Raising Respect Campaign for International Women’s Day. A guest speaker shared her experiences with Jenny’s Place, making it a memorable morning. Our staff rallied together, raising over $300 to support women and children facing domestic violence. At Christmas our team gathered hamper items for the women supported by Jenny’s Place. We wanted to give to those who could use a little extra love during the festive season.
Got Your Back Sista
Jayco Newcastle are regular sponsors of the OAS Got Your Back Sista Golf day which raises money to help more women and children escape domestic violence in our community!
Cardiff Hawks AFL Club
We are also very supportive of our local sporting teams and are currently sponsoring the Cardiff Hawks Australian Football Club, helping out with raffle prizes, donations for equipment, covering costs for food and drinks at events and more. Our owner Damian Charleson has been the club President for the 2019 and 2020 seasons and on the club committee for many years.
Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation Chairman's Medal
In recognition of his charity and local community support, Damian Charleson, proprietor of Jayco Newcastle was named as the inaugural recipient of the Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation Chairman’s Medal in 2018.
The Chairman’s Medal, recognises the achievements and contribution of an outstanding individual volunteer and the impact volunteers make to our community.
Jayco Newcastle is also an avid supporter of the Hunter Prostate Cancer Alliance and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter as well as other community fundraisers.
